Isabelle Greene, F.A.S.L.A.

“My life’s work stems from a love of land: particularly the vast and visible lands of the West. Also a curiosity about what is inside any unknown.”

Isabelle C. Greene, has gardened, drawn, and painted since early childhood and studied both botany and studio art. Her first creation won a design award. Since that award, she developed a widely recognized career. In 1999, the American Society of Landscape Architects honored her with induction into their class of Fellows. Her distinctive projects are informed by a deep knowledge of plants, climate, and geography--they blend garden and architecture into a seamless whole. Feature articles in Vogue, House & Garden, The New York Times and many other publications have brought Ms. Greene a wide and appreciative audience, which will be increased by her upcoming book, Five Greene Gardens, due out in 2008.

Peter Leysen

Peter J. A. Leysen graduated in 1985 from Erasmus University, Brussels in Landscape and Garden Architecture. His talent secured an apprenticeship with Jacques Wirtz, a renowned, European landscape architect. After mentoring there in Landscape and Garden, demand for his work brought about independent designer-builder work throughout Western Europe. In 2002 he emigrated to the U.S., working for a time in Sausalito, until he moved to Santa Barbara to take a position with Isabelle Greene and Associates. Peter says this is his creativity “home”, where every day inspires him to be his best.
